The department endeavours to provide optimal nutritional care to patients. In-Patient services include the calculation of tube-feeds, supplementation, baby feeds etc. Out Patients are managed through individual consultations. During these consultations patients are educated regarding the appropriate diets for different diseases. Consultations are arranged on appointment and only through referral from a medical practitioner.

The main purpose of this department is to ensure that all In Patients after discharge from the hospital are safe and completely looked after. To achieve this there is a very close working relationship with the applicable resources in the community. This also applies to Out patients.A wide variety of problems are managed including child abuse and neglect. Teenage pregnancies, marital problems and the arrangement of pauper burials. Currently there is only one Social Worker available who manages an average of 115 patients per month. This service is also available to staff members.
